The spring semester ended with a great party for the ELP students of Purdue Calumet at the Challenger Learning Center with awards, laser light show, photo booth, space food, and a simulated space mission.
The Challenger Learning Center was host to the party this year. Students enjoyed the laser light show set to music in the planetarium. They also engaged in the simulated space mission as students became astronauts and engineers.
One of the rooms was converted into a “not-a-booth” photo booth. The earth backdrop with stars made a perfect backdrop for the photos. The American flag, plastic rocks, and blow up flying astronaut really added to the fun. The Challenger Learning Center also provided backpacks, space helmets, and gloves. Guests took home a 4×6 photo strip and also will be able to view them online through a password protected gallery.
Students arrived to neon Challenger Learning Center glasses as favors. Flying saucers (hambugers), rocket ships (corndogs), and moon rocks (hash browns) accompanied the fruit punch, cookies and cake just before the awards ceremony.
