Katie and John celebrated a love “modern enough to survive the times, and old fashion enough to last forever” with friends and family at Strongbow Inn of Valparaiso, Indiana. Guests enjoyed fine food, drinks, dancing and a photo booth all night long at the sunflower inspired wedding.
Strongbow Inn was decorated in accents of cranberry red, sunflower yellow, and swatches of burlap throughout. As guests walked in the could see chalkboard signs and vases as centerpieces with roses and sunflowers. Elegant green, red and orange uplighting washed the hall in color. Burlap and red doily table runners made the tables pretty along with burnt orange napkins.
At the back of the hall a photo booth sat ready and waiting to capture photos of funny memories-in-the-making. With a yellow sunflower and burlap inspired design, guests took four photos with tons of silly props. The photo booth was a big hit as the bride and groom posed with friends and family. Guests took a strip home as a favor.
Appetizers were twice backed potatoes, meatballs and stuffed mushrooms. Guests snacked and grabbed a cocktail to be seated for the grand entrance. The bridesmaids all came in pairs and the men ran in and danced when the beat dropped. Everyone cheered as Katie was carried in by John.
The cake cutting was cute and simple, as the newlyweds mushed a little cake on each others cheeks. Dinner was a plated meal of prime rib, asparagus, mashed potatoes, chicken and lasagna. As dinner was enjoyed the toasts were given. The maid of honor had a few pirate jokes up here sleeve- “What kind of beer do pirates drink? PB Arrghhh!” then the best man and father of the bride gave toasts soon after.
The night ended with plenty of dancing, a coffee and tea bar, and more fun in the photo booth.
