Not everyone is lucky enough to get married at the beautiful Culver Military Academy in Culver, Indiana. Krystal, the stunning bride, and Will, an alumni of the academy, took advantage of the opportunity and turned the space into a unique venue with uplighting and a photo booth.
The wedding was themed in Culver’s signature red hue. Red Chinese lanterns of various sizes were strung across the ceiling. A 90-foot curtain backdrop, covered the canvas screened windows and provided an elegant setting behind the head table. Red uplighting and a monogrammed gobo of the couple’s names illuminated the backdrop.
The front foyer area where guests entered the venue featured a monogram on the floor and red uplights that highlighted the stone and wooden architecture. The couple’s four-tiered cake – decked out in red, black and white spots – was pinspotted to make it stand out. Pinspotting was also done on a handcarved wooden plaque, a gift to the newlyweds, that featured the couple’s names and marriage dates.
Throughout the night, the bride and groom’s 150 guests enjoyed visiting the photobooth with a photo strip background design that matched their gobo monogram. Family pictures and shots of the couple were rear projected for a big screen slideshow. Krystal and Will danced on a cloud for their first dance thanks to a dry ice machine.
