Amanda and friends had a blast at her 18th birthday party at the American Legion in Hammond, Indiana. With a black light theme and neon everywhere, the night was a ball as people danced to slides, shuffles, and “twerked” the night away. In the corner of the room a photobooth captured all the hilarity with fun props.
The American legion was flush with black lights and twinkling lasers, as guests entered to enjoy a celebration of Amanda’s 18th birthday. The tables were covered in white, black and yellow while the walls were dotted with photographs of Amanda through out the years.
Centerpieces were cupcakes made to look like flower bouquets, with pictures jutting out of them. A photobooth sat and was ready to be used to take funny images. Guests took 3 black and white or color photos on a neon zebra photostrip. Props were goofy favorites like funny signs, “diva” necklaces, chicken masks, Thor’s hammer and a fake machine gun.
Dinner was a yummy buffet of chicken, beef, pasta and salad. Amanda’s father was the DJ for the party and tailored the night to her friends musical tastes, including lots of slides, shuffles and “old school” hip hop music. The young adults worked it under the glow light as dance-offs erupted to the left and right of Amanda.
Over at the photobooth, kids laughed while donning the foam lion mane and holding signs that read “Ratchet”, “Tool”, and “Twerk it!” Slide shows we shown to guests, made for Amanda by her mother and brother. A speech was given congratulating Amanda on her volleyball scholarship, and at the end of of the evening Amanda’s neice sang “Let It Go” to Amanda surprising everyone. An impromptu food fight broke out before the night finished, prompting mom to make the teens clean up a bit!
