Megan and Chuck’s wedding was a cornucopia of delights at Wicker Park, in Highland Indiana with festive fall colors, funny dances and a photobooth.
The ceremony took place outside at the sprawling hillside in back of the Wicker Park Social Center. A circular lake with fountains and a gazebo set the scene for the couple’s special exchange. Megan and Chuck spoke vows in the gazebo, while classical instruments were played behind them, and a long time friend officiated.
The hall was a crisp display of reds and oranges, with cheerful pumpkin centerpieces featuring various Autum flowers. Orange and Red uplights washed the wall in back of the head table with autumn color, and fall leaves floated across the cake table as though falling to the floor. A real mailbox was decorated in mums for guests to place cards in, and the cake was a multi-level design with orange and coral flowers and topped with a statue of a man and women embracing.
A delicious feast of salad, cut roast, grape chicken, potatoes, green beans, coffee, cake and ice cream left guests happy and ready to party. During dinner the best man and maid of honor gave speeches and raised up toasts in the couples honor. Later the crowd was wowed by first dances, and the DJ kept everyone entertained all night as party goers took to the floor to celebrate. A specially planned YMCA dance popped up on the floor, where the bridal party wore hilarious props like police hats, fireman helmets and Native American head dresses along with all the hats the village people wore for YMCA.
The photobooth was nestled in the corner of the hall. All night long guests came in and out of the booth, creating memories and leaving photo strips in a memory book for Megan and Chuck. Well wishes and silly messages filled the book along with signatures. The photo strip was a custom made design featuring four photos in color on a background that looked like a film strip. Props included big glasses (like Elton John wore), sparkly, zebra print, and blues brothers shades, and of course everyone’s favorite of the night, mustaches on a stick. Megan and Chuck made an appearance in the booth, cramming in lots of friends and family for group shots, before taking a few sweet ones of their own.
