Marie celebrated her entrance into womanhood with friends and family at the Knights of Columbus in East Chicago, Indiana for her Quinceañera. The night was full of food, traditional dances, a Mariachi band, DJ and a fun photobooth.
The evening was a non-stop parade of fun all night long. Marie’s friends and family were seated as she and her escorts took to the head table to chat while everyone enjoyed cocktails at the bar. It wasn’t long before dinner was served and a lovely family style spread of mashed potatoes, beef, fried chicken and green beans made it’s way into everyone’s stomachs.
The hall was decorated in azure blue, everywhere, with masks on the walls, on the tables, and even on the photostrip that the photobooth produced. The photobooth sat in the back corner waiting for dinner to be over and for guests to take three photos in either color or black and white.
The strip was a 4×6 creation that featured the birthday girl’s name, the date and an azure and purple mask with ribbons. Props ranged from feather boas to pimp chains and cups.
After dinner was served, a ten piece mariachi band appeared to sing happy birthday to Marie. Mexican favorites were covered and right after the band left, Marie and her friends put on a traditional Quinceañera dance for guests to enjoy, mixed with some funky new moves. Marie thanked all her sponsors with gifts and kisses.
Next the DJ opened the dance floor to Marie and her father for their first dance and the traditional placing of Marie’s heels on her feet by her father. The photobooth opened and guests filtered in and out along with Marie and her family. Everyone rocked on the dance floor as the DJ enticed a massive train to form and kids formed a mega-dance-arch on their own. The night ended with everyone doing a giant harlem shake while wearing masks.
